Welcome Pastor Erik

Pastor Erik Allen

We are truly blessed to welcome a new full-time pastor to Christ the King Lutheran Church beginning August 1, 2014 - Pastor James Erik Allen. We are now being led by a Pastor with an outstanding education (Master of Divinity) from the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. He comes from a family of Lutheran pastors, including his parents, brother and wife. He has served as a resident chaplain (St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, Ohio), a head pastor (Hebron Evangelical Lutheran Church, Leechburg, PA) and an associate pastor (St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Franklin, Tennessee).

 

Sunday School Rally Day

Discipleship Hour

Join us as we begin a new year of Sunday school for all ages during the Discipleship Hour at 10:00 a.m.!  "Rally Day" will begin in the fellowship hall with a reception, singing, and a chance for everyone to go to their classrooms for a short lesson and to meet their teachers. Please plan to join us as we continue our journey of faith. Following is information on what each age level will be studying.

will use the new Spark curriculum "Whirl." This curriculum will follow the lessons that will be read during the worship services on Sunday morning.

will be using materials from Sola Publishing. The 6th graders will be studying the Old and New Testaments for the year. The 7th and 8th graders will be studying Luther's Small Catechism beginning with The Apostles' Creed.

(9th - 12th graders) will be using materials from Augsburg Fortress, "Together in Faith Bible Study Series."

- Pastor Allen will be offering an adult class based on the gospel reading each Sunday.
