August 31 is Pastor Dee’s last Sunday among us. We will honor and thank her at receptions following all three services in the Fellowship Hall. Please plan to join us and wish her well!

There is a Called Congregation Meeting after the 11:00 a.m. service on September 7. The meeting is in regard to the dismissal of Dr. Jack Broman. It is crucial that all voting members attend.

Don't forget! Sunday, September 7 is the Sunday School Kick-off for all children and adults. Children from age 3 through 5th grade will have an open house in their classrooms. It's a time to meet your teachers, hear about what's going on for the upcoming months, enjoy an activity and have an ICE CREAM PARTY! So come and join us. We're looking forward to a great year with new curriculums including the new “It's be-TWEEN God and Me” program for 4th and 5th graders. We can't wait to see you there!

Sunday Night Lutheran’s (SNL) Middle School and High School students are invited to come and “Hang Out” in “THE SHAK” on Sunday, September 7. Dinner and games will be provided. We will meet from 4:30-7:30 p.m.

Confirmation Classes and High School Sunday School will begin with a kick-off breakfast in “THE SHAK” starting at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 7.

New Adult Bible Study on Sundays! Plan on joining us in a fascinating, insightful and challenging 12-week Bible Study as we use "Giving To God - The Bible's Good News about Living a Generous Life" by Mark A. Powell as our guide to Biblical stewardship that is faithful to the teaching of Scripture, to the promises of Christ, and to the needs of those who view giving to God as an opportunity and expectation for their journey of faith. Starting Sunday, September 7, TWO class times offered: 8:15 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.

Soli Deo Gloria Ringers Handbell Choir rehearsals start Monday, September 8. Rehearsal time is 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. Newcomers are WELCOME! Please contact Susan Johnson, director, if you are interested in ringing in the choir: 678-947-1914.

The Cool Kids, ages 3-9, are heading to TANGLEWOOD FARMS for their first outing on Sunday, September 14, from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. Come join us for a picnic and a chance to see all types of miniature animals and even a pony ride!! Bring your family and friends. Cost is $4.00 for all Cool Kids, $9.00 for all others. This includes your admission and lunch. See you there!!

Wide Open Student Ministry youth are invited to Reel World Night at The Owens Home from 4:30-7:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 14. For more information please contact Kelly Edwards.

Kids, grade 3-5, and their parents are invited to join us and the Wide Open Youth kids for a BRAVES DAY on Sunday, September 21. The game starts at 1:30 against the NY Mets. Cost is $10.00 per person and includes ticket and gas money for the drivers. Look for more upcoming details. Space is limited, so sign up soon.

Yard Sale: Christ the King will hold the Yard Sale on Friday September 26 and Saturday September 27. Please bring your donated items to the garage at one of the following drop off times: Sundays September 14 and 21 from 9:00 - 1:00 p.m., Mondays September 15 and 22 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m., Wednesdays September 17 and 24 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. and Thursday September 25 from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. If you need an alternate time, please contact Mike Myers at 678-455-0814.
