A Message from the Pastor
Dear people of Christ the King,
As you read this letter you are all very aware that Pastor Dee Donnelly has finished her gracious Christ centered service with you and that I have become your new Transition Pastor. I pray that I too may serve you with the same energy and love that she shared with you. I wish to thank your church council and you for the opportunity to serve as your Transition Pastor. I will be serving Christ with you on a part time basis. My understanding of this call is that I should only be with you for 2 to 3 months as the call committee and council finish their work of finding and bringing you a new Pastor. We will all be praying together that God will fulfill this work in you. I know that you have been waiting for your new Pastor for a long time and that Pastor Dee and you have done a lot of work in preparation for his or her arrival. Together we will be able to finish this work.
I was ordained in 1985 and have served in churches in both rural and urban settings in Minnesota and Texas. I have served as an interim or transition Pastor in Colorado, Georgia and Alabama. More specifically I served as transition Pastor at Our Redeemer in Montgomery, AL and St. Thomas Lutheran in Roswell, GA. I am currently under nonstipendiary call at Amazing Grace Lutheran in Lawrenceville, GA where my wife Jill and I are members. Because this call is a voluntary position I have made my living as a self-employed contractor doing remodeling and repair residential work for the last 6 years. As a Transition Minister I completed training and was certified by the Interim Ministry Network in 2001. I am also a trained Spiritual Director.
My wife Jill Knueppel is a massage therapist. We have been married for 20 years, have no children but do have 2 cats. We enjoy camping, sailing, reading, music and taking vacation times with friends. I also enjoy wood working and am an inconstant gardener. Jill’s family lives in the Atlanta metro area and my family lives in Minnesota.
I am looking forward to our time together at Christ the King.
