A Message from the Pastor
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I love New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. It is a great time to look back at the year gone by with all of its joys and sorrows and simply give it all to God. And it’s a great time to look ahead to the New Year with whatever God has in store. For some folks the unknown is a scary thing, for others it’s an adventure. But we are a people of faith and that means that all of our past, present and future are in much bigger hands than our own.
A.W. Tozer once said, “What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us. Were we able to extract from any man a complete answer to the question, ‘What comes into your mind when you think about God?’ we might predict with certainty the spiritual future of that man.” As we begin the New Year together as pastor and people I thought it would be appropriate to explore our faith together in a series of New Year sermons. To prepare I want you ponder your answers to two questions:
Through the first six weeks of the New Year I will try to help you paint a portrait of God’s heart. It is my prayer that you will learn to experience more of God’s blessings and direction for your life, and that you will find out how big God really is and how He wants you to trust Him – with your whole life!
We will share together these seven messages on how God is big enough to:
- Keep you secure … as His own child and heir.
- Love you unconditionally … even though He knows all about nothing is too big or too small for Him to handle. you!
- Deserve your trust … because
- Meet your needs … because they are so small compared to His greatness!
- Bless you … if you follow His instructions.
- Guide your life … He knows where to take you - if you let Him.
HOW BIG IS GOD? The answer might just blow the lid off your faith!
