A Message from the Pastor
The Baobab Blast has come and gone, and what a blast it was! 120
children came to Christ the King Church each night during our Vacation
Bible School on June 14 – 18. The church was transformed from its
usual décor to the Serengeti Plains of Africa. If you were at worship on
June 20 you had an opportunity to share in the laughter and joy of the
children as they experienced the music, the scriptures and the lessons of
the Baobab Blast
Of course, none of this would have been possible without
the dedication and commitment of nearly 70 adults and
teens who gave of their time and talent to lead, teach and
prepare for this VBS. More than 400 volunteer hours
were given to make the Baobab Blast a great success. I
am truly grateful for all of your efforts as we put forth our
best for the children of our church and community..
The week of VBS and the weeks of preparation
leading up to it is a great example of what we can do
together as a church that is committed to our Lord
Jesus Christ. I know the children forged many deep
and lasting relationships with their crew leaders,
rotation teachers and, yes, even the ‘witch doctor.’
There is an old saying that “many hands make light
work.” Our VBS week was a great example of
“blessed hands making blessings for the children.”
Thank you to all for your time and commitment!

Now we can get ready for next year … “Panda Monium” will be upon us before we know it.
