Seeking Altar Guild Volunteers

Seeking Altar Guild Volunteers If you are interested in doing "behind the scenes" service that would perhaps take 20 minutes of your time, consider being an Altar Guild Volunteer. Usually only one Sunday per month is required. Volunteers are needed for the 8:15 and 11:00 a.m. services. Please contact Vicki Gleason at 706-867-9787 or any Altar Guild representative if interested. What a wonderful way to be of service!

This will allow an August 11-15 replacement of the 1994 portion of the roof which was damaged as well. Our AC units also require some work. All of this has been covered by insurance less a $1000 deductible. Please keep this is mind as you plan use of our facility. Noise could be the greatest concern.

Hospitality Ministry Opportunities

Hospitality Ministry Opportunities - Promoting a genuine atmosphere of Christian Welcome at Christ the King is vital to the wellbeing of our congregation. This is where our Hospitality Ministry plays an important role in our church life. Prayerfully consider whether this area of hospitality could be a ministry where you could grow in your discipleship by giving to others. If you are interested in serving in this ministry or have questions about this ministry, please contact Sue Johnson (Hospitality Ministry liaison) at 678- 947-1914.

Did You Know?

After providing for family and loved ones, members may want to put Christ the King in their wills, thus helping to assure the long-term future of our church. Bequests are free of estate tax and can substantially reduce the amount of your assets claimed by the government. You can give needed support for our church by simply including the following words in your will: “I give, devise, and bequeath to Christ the King Lutheran Church, Cumming, Georgia, Inc. (insert the amount being given here) to support the ministry of Christ the King.” A bequest can be a specific dollar amount, a specific piece of property, a percentage of an estate, or all or part of the residue of an estate. You can also name Christ the King as a contingency beneficiary in the event someone named in your will is no longer living. It is recommended that a lawyer help in drafting or amending a will. To obtain a copy of the Memorials, Bequests, and Other Gifts Policy, please contact the office.

The 2007 Annual Report

The 2007 Annual Report is now available on the table in the Narthex. It is also available on the website here. There are limited printed copies available, so please view it on the website if possible. We will be approving it at the Congregational Meeting Sunday, March 16.
