CTK Preschool Helping Hands Drive • Through Sept. 10
Our children’s outreach ministry, Christ the King Lutheran Preschool, will be holding the annual Helping Hands Supply Drive for the next three Sundays.
The supply drive helps to stock the Sunday School and Preschool classrooms with much needed items such as tissues, paper towels, wipes, etc. From the easel in the Narthex, grab a hand which will indicate a supply that can be donated. Return the donated supplies back to the “Supply Wagon” in the Narthex. Support the Scrip program and the Preschool by choosing a hand with a gift card value on it. The gift cards are used to purchase supplies throughout the year.
CTK Preschool provides a loving and spiritual early education to approximately 75 students each year, Monday through Friday. For more information on the preschool please contact Preschool Director, Jakima McCall at 678-513-4338 or email@example.com. Visit the Preschool web page to learn more about the Preschool programs.
God’s Work. Our Hands. | Sunday, Sept. 10 – 10AM – Fellowship Hall
Sunday, September 10, is an opportunity to celebrate who we are as the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) – one church, freed in Christ to serve and love our neighbor. Since 2013, thousands of ELCA congregations have participated in this opportunity and dedicated one day to serve communities in ways that share the love of God with all people.
This year Christ the King will once again provide snack bags to the first responders in our community. Last year with the help of many in the congregation, we were able to provide snack bags to many of our fire stations and sheriff precincts in the county.
For the next several weeks Christ the King will be collecting individually wrapped snacks to make up “snack bags” to take to the various first responders in our area. Ideas for snacks are: single serving chips, power bars, fruit chews, single serving cookies, anything else that is sealed and considered a snack. On Sept. 10 during the Discipleship Hour (10:00 – 10:45 a.m.) we will gather in the fellowship hall to make the “snack bags” with 4-5 snacks in each to take to our own first responders. We’ll also write and color cards to add to the bags.
Are you able to help coordinate the event? Maybe drive to the various departments to deliver the snacks? Coordinate card making, coloring and writing of cards? Any and all help will be most appreciated! Please email Deborah Scarazzo. “God’s work. Our hands.” Together we can reach out to those beyond the walls of Christ the King to show the love of Christ among us.
