God’s Work. Our Hands Sunday – As you can see in the pictures below dozens showed up to pack snack bags for our community’s first responders. Sponsored by the ELCA, God’s Work. Our Hands Sunday is an excellent opportunity to say “Thank you” to our police, fire fighters, and emergency responders in Cumming. And not a day too soon since these first responders will most definitely be on overtime duty in the aftermath of tropical storm Irma in our area.

We want to thank all who helped and who generously donated the goodies for the bags! Together we can reach out to those beyond the walls of Christ the King to show the love of Christ among us.

Women’s Ministry “Mad Hatter” Tea – On Saturday, August 19 about 30 ladies and young ladies gathered for an afternoon of tea, finger fare, and fancy haberdashery to celebrate the reveal of their secret prayer sisters.

We thank Susan Hallman (in her finest yellow boa hat) and her committee for organizing this fun event. Sandra Lutters led us all in singing many of our old time favorites.

After a fine “parade of hats” secret prayer sisters from the past year were revealed and new prayer sisters selected for the next year. Those who wish to participate for the year, remember their “secret sister” throughout the year in prayer, with cards and small gifts.

Rally Day 2017 – The youth of Christ the King helped kick off the 2017 Discipleship Hour with a well attended Rally Day celebration between services on August 13. Everyone enjoyed a brunch with delightful food & treats to eat, games, crafts, music and more in the fellowship hall. The Youth Band and Nostalgia had our toes tapping with their upbeat music. Come join us this year during the Discipleship Hour class time and “Discover Your Strength in God!”

Here is this year’s Discipleship Hour class schedule.

Back to School Supplies for Forsyth Co. Homeless Youth – A big “Thank You” to everyone at Christ the King who donated to the Back to School Supplies for the Homeless Youth in Forsyth County! Our CTK Youth and adult volunteers packed 46 back packs on Sunday, July 16! Each back pack has all the requested school supplies for Forsyth County. Through your generosity and devotion to serve others these Forsyth County students will be truly blessed. Thank you for sharing God’s love with the homeless students of Forsyth County.
