Unified commitment of time, talent and treasure.
“ Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” 1 Corinthians 9:6-8
VISION 2020 is a 3-year giving commitment begun in 2017 to meet four specifically defined growth objectives at Christ the King. These objectives are:
Enhance children, youth & senior programs
– Additional staffing & new programs
– Focus on evangelism
– Expand online exposure
– Enhance congregational connections
Update church campus
– Building and grounds facelift and improvements
Extend a call for pastor(s)
– Call of senior pastor and possible full-time associate pastor
Through our commitment to VISION 2020, we as a congregation strive to optimize our time, talent and treasure by:
- Encouraging Christ-centered generosity,
- Energizing volunteerism,
- Expanding our community outreach, and
- Increasing the use of our building facilities.
Vision 2020 Update | 01-18
We want to update everyone on the VISION 2020 progress. We currently have received 85 generous pledges totaling nearly $364,000 for the three-year life of VISION 2020. The generosity of the Christ the King members is going to allow our church to do many things that will help us grow in significant ways.
We now have the funds to supplement the benefits package for calling a Senior Pastor. Property improvements like parking lot repair and resurfacing, and new signage are all on the way. There are also some limited funds now available for expanded ministry programs.
These are all exciting and should make very positive enhancements, however there are also many things we are unable to do because we are short of our financial goal. We are unable to fund the benefit package necessary to call an Associate Pastor or other full and part-time staffing needs. It also means considerably decreasing funds available for such enrichments as volunteer training programs and materials, tutoring programs, increasing the budgets of significant ministries, and more extensive campus updates.
We all have a great opportunity to provide the means for Christ the King to grow in ways we have yet to see and nurture our commission to “Glorify God – Spread the Word – Love One Another”. If you have not pledged or donated to VISION 2020, lease take the time to review the program and discern what you can give and make a generous pledge or donation.
